Who Am I in Christ? What does the Bible say about our identity in Christ? The Bible says that we are chosen by God and given a purpose. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness in to his wonderful light”. This is God’s purpose for us, to have a relationship with him and for us to choose to love him. When we understand the depth of God’s love for us our identity is secure in him. Colossians 3:12
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Sometimes we forget who we are and what God has done for us, and that when we make that choice to accept him we have an identity in him as his children. Galatians 3:26-27
You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

When we accept him we not only have an identity in him but we can also develop a relationship with him and become friends. Don’t compare yourself to others and don’t allow feelings of insecurity to rob you of your identity in Christ.  He made you, He loves you, you are His sons and daughters.  It is important that we see ourselves the way God sees us and then live in obedience to Him. God knows who we really are. He loves us and created us for a purpose.
